Statement on California’s Cap-and-Trade Legislation by Catherine Reheis-Boyd, President, Western States Petroleum Association

“Last year, when California policymakers established the world’s most stringent 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions goal, all knew that achieving it would be difficult, technologically challenging, and would require bipartisan leadership.

“The bipartisan cap-and trade package passed this week is the best, most balanced way for California to comply with state law requiring reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.— The communications department of the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) added diverse experience and expertise by the addition of three new team members, WSPA President Catherine Reheis-Boyd announced today.

“Our industry has a great story to tell and we have hired a team with the talent and enthusiasm to do it effectively,” Reheis-Boyd, said. “We sought best-of-class talent, and we found it.”

Oyango Snell Joins WSPA as New General Counsel

 

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—  The newly created position of In-House General Counsel for the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) was filled by the hiring of Oyango Snell, Catherine Reheis-Boyd, WSPA President, announced today.

“Oyango is an outstanding attorney with extensive and successful experience in working with industries like ours,” Reheis-Boyd, said.   “He will play a key role at WSPA as we confront the complex legal challenges facing our members.”

WSPA Appoints New Bay Area Operations Director

“Our new Bay Area Operations Director will oversee WSPA’s advocacy and community relations programs throughout the region,” said Catherine Reheis-Boyd, President of the Western States Petroleum Association. “Bob joins our team with a deep understanding of the role energy plays throughout the region, and will play an integral role as we continue to engage with Bay Area regulators, communities, and stakeholders. I am very pleased to have Bob on board at WSPA.”
